What information we collect, use, and why

We collect and use the following personal information when you use the standard SignalTracker app or SignalTrackerPro:

  • Location data
  • IP addresses
  • If you create a SignalTrackerPro account we collect the Google-registered email address to create that account.
    • This is required for technical purposes, including account access, authentication, user support, diagnostics, security, and ensuring that test results are associated with the correct account.
    • Google account email addresses are not used in PolicyTracker research outputs, published reports, maps, charts or customer-facing datasets. Research and reporting are based on aggregated or anonymised results so that individual users are not identified.
    • Our principle is to collect the minimum personal data needed to operate the software and carry out mobile network research.

How long we keep information

We will the store information, other than Google account email addresses, for up to 30 years as the purpose of the app is to track evolving performance of mobile networks.

We retain Google account email addresses only for as long as needed to provide the SignalTracker Pro account, support users, maintain security, investigate technical issues, comply with legal obligations, and keep appropriate business records. When an email address is no longer needed for these purposes, it will be deleted or anonymised.
