SignalTracker’s research into ‘fake 5G’ and its misleading qualities for consumers has been featured on TV by the BBC.
Following the release of SignalTracker’s research into why some phones display a 5G icon despite actually using 4G, we have worked with the BBC to bring the issue to attention for consumers and took part in a segment on the Monday October 6 episode of Morning Live.
In the segment, PolicyTracker managing director Martin Sims took presenter Zoe Hardman around London with four phones using the SignalTracker app, to demonstrate what this problem looks like and how difficult it can be to tell if you are truly connected to 5G. In the clip below, Martin and Zoe talk about the phenomenon and demonstrate the app.
